Texas Hunter Education Course
A Guide to Safe and Responsible Hunting

Welcome to one of the official online hunter education courses developed for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Taking a hunting safety course will allow you to comply with Texas hunter education law and will also make you a safer and more knowledgeable hunter.

	Simple and self-paced—This particular hunter safety course is user-friendly and self-directed.
	Have fun learning with interactive animations, like this movie about how a firearm works.
	Take a Field Day Qualifier Exam. Upon passing, you may print out your Texas Field Day Qualifier Certificate, which allows you to attend a Field Day.
	Pay $15 to take a Field Day Qualifier Exam online. Pay an additional $15 state fee when you attend your Field Day and take the required final exam to complete the certification process. Total cost: $30

What You'll Learn

Take any of the Texas hunter safety courses and:

• Learn about hunter responsibility and ethics
• Discover how firearms work and learn about firearm safety
• Improve your wildlife identification, game care, survival and first aid skills
• Develop firearm handling skills and hunting techniques
• Increase awareness about wildlife conservation and management
• For students passing the online test, receive your Texas Field Day Qualifier Certificate, which allows you to attend a day of field activities required to complete the certification process. There is an additional $15 state fee for the Field Day.

Hunter education is not just for kids and not just for hunters. The program is for all folks who enjoy the outdoors and have an interest in conservation. The course can also be an excellent refresher for veteran hunters.
