In order to complete the South Carolina hunter education requirements, you must pass both the online and In-Person Exam portions of the hunter education course.

Locating and Signing Up for the In-Person Exam

After passing the online portion of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required In-Person Exam.

To locate and sign up for the In-Person Exam in your area, go to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources website at http://www.dnr.sc.gov/education/huntedlisting.html.

Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the In-Person Exam.

What To Expect at the In-Person Exam

At the In-Person Exam, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and South Carolina’s Hunter Education Certification exam.

Important Bring your Online Course Completion Voucher to the In-Person Exam as proof of having completed the online course.

After attending and passing the In-Person Exam portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your South Carolina Hunter Education Certificate.

Online Course Completion Voucher
The South Carolina Online Course Completion Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Online Course Completion Voucher at the In-Person Exam to gain admittance.
South Carolina Hunter Education Certificate
The South Carolina Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of South Carolina. You will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources after successfully completing the In-Person Exam.

Replacement

If you have already received the South Carolina Hunter Education Certificate and need a replacement certificate, you can contact the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources at http://www.dnr.sc.gov/.

To replace a lost or destroyed Online Course Completion Voucher, log in to the course and print a new one.
