Locating and Signing Up for the In-Person Exam
After passing the online portion of the Rhode Island Division of Fish & Wildlife hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required In-Person Exam.
To locate and sign up for the In-Person Exam in your area, go to the Rhode Island Division of Fish & Wildlife website at http://www.dem.ri.gov/programs/bnatres/fishwild/huntered/h_courses.htm.

What To Expect at the In-Person Exam
At the In-Person Exam you must successfully complete an exam administered by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Fish & Wildlife. The exam covers topics presented in the Rhode Island Hunting and Trapping Abstract.

Hunter Education Documents
- Course Completion Certificate
- The Rhode Island Course Completion Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Course Completion Certificate at the In-Person Exam to gain admittance.
- Rhode Island Hunter Education Certificate
- The Rhode Island Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of Rhode Island. You will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from the Rhode Island Division of Fish & Wildlife after successfully completing the In-Person Exam.
If you have already received the Rhode Island Hunter Education Certificate and need a replacement certificate, you can contact the Rhode Island Division of Fish & Wildlife at http://www.dem.ri.gov/.
To replace a lost or destroyed Course Completion Certificate, log in to the course and print a new one.
