Firing a Semi-Automatic Handgun

The following interactive animation shows the complete loading and firing cycle of a typical single-action semi-automatic handgun. A typical double-action semi-automatic would be similar, except that the hammer could be cocked by simply pulling the trigger, as well as by drawing back the slide.
