State Law All hunters must show a certificate of completion from an appropriate course, or a previously issued license of the same type to purchase a NH hunting, archery or trapping license.

This official training program is developed to meet the standards for hunter training established by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA).
Read each chapter. The chapters are organized to form building blocks of information. Each chapter will help you understand the information in the next chapters.
This official training program will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to be a safe and responsible hunter in New Hampshire.
Pass the 9 Unit Quizzes
As you progress through the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate how well you’re understanding the hunter safety topics by taking a quiz at the end of each unit (chapter).
You’ll need to score 80% or greater on the unit quiz before moving on to the next unit.
If you don’t pass a unit quiz, that’s no problem. You can study until you feel you are ready to take the quiz again.
Pass the Final Exam
After completing all units, you’ll have the choice to proceed directly to the online Field Day Qualifier Exam, or you may first take a practice exam.
Both the practice exam and the Field Day Qualifier Exam cover all the course material and will assess your knowledge of hunting safely in New Hampshire.
You must score 80% or greater on the final exam to pass. If you fail the final exam, don’t worry; you have unlimited attempts to pass the final.
After Passing the Online Course…
After passing the online course, you are required to attend the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Hunter Education Field Day to complete your hunter education certification.
