How much does the online hunter certification course cost? How much does the Online Course Completion Confirmation cost?
The online course fee is $24.50. There is no charge for the Online Course Completion Confirmation.
Is it safe to enter my credit card information online?
Yes. You can enter your credit card online with confidence on our secure server. This charge will appear on your credit card statement as “Safety Courses 18008302268.”
Why is there a charge to “Safety Courses 18008302268” on my credit card statement?
This is the charge for your course fee. “Safety Courses 18008302268” is what appears on your card statement.

Taking the Nevada Hunter's Ed Course

How long will it take to complete the course?
It typically takes 3–4 hours to go through the online course, excluding quizzes and any re-studying that you may choose to do.
Do I have to complete the online course all at once?
You may complete the course at your own pace. The course can be completed in one sitting or completed a little at a time over several days.
After passing the course, how long do I have to wait for my Online Course Completion Confirmation?
Upon passing and paying for the course, you may immediately print out a Online Course Completion Confirmation.
What is the minimum age to take the online course?
There is no minimum age to take the online course.

Course Authority, Recognition, and State Acceptance

Is this course approved by the state of Nevada?
This course is approved by the Nevada Department of Wildlife to satisfy the education requirements necessary to obtain the Nevada Hunter Education Certificate.
Is my Nevada Hunter Education Certificate accepted in other states?
All states and provinces that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept Nevada hunter education certifications. Likewise, Nevada will accept hunter education certifications that are issued by other states and provinces that meet official IHEA-USA requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

Unit Quizzes

I failed a unit quiz. Have I failed the course?
No. If you fail, you can take the unit quizzes over, but the timer will be reset. You will be required to retake the quiz. You must score at least 80% on the 9 unit quizzes to pass.

About Your Hunter Certification

What is the Online Course Completion Confirmation?
After completing the course by passing and paying the course fee, you may instantly print out a Nevada Online Course Completion Confirmation. This online course certificate will allow you to be admitted to a Final Hunter Education Class provided by the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
When will I receive the Online Course Completion Confirmation?
Once you pass the course and pay the course fee, you will be able to immediately print out the Online Course Completion Confirmation. You can print the Online Course Completion Confirmation right then, and/or request that a PDF of the Online Course Completion Confirmation be e-mailed to you.
What is the Nevada Hunter Education Certificate?
The Nevada Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements. You will receive the Nevada Hunter Education Certificate from the Nevada Department of Wildlife after successfully completing the Final Hunter Education Class.
How do I get the Nevada Hunter Education Certificate?
Your Nevada Hunter Education Certificate will be issued to you after you pass and pay for the online course and complete the in-person component of the hunter certification process.

The Final Hunter Education Class

Is there an in-person component of the hunter certification process?

After passing the online course, students must attend a Final Hunter Education Class Final Hunter Education Class provided by the Nevada Department of Wildlife. You must provide the instructor with your Online Course Completion Confirmation in order to participate.

Go to http://www.ndow.org/Education/Classes/Hunter_Education/ to search for a Final Hunter Education Class in your area or call (775) 688-1500. You must pre-register for the Final Hunter Education Class with the instructor.

Once you have successfully completed the Final Hunter Education Class, you will receive your permanent Nevada Hunter Education Certificate from the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

Does passing the online course guarantee me a spot at the Final Hunter Education Class?
No. Once you pass the online course, you are responsible for signing up for a Final Hunter Education Class in your area.

Replacement of Lost or Damaged Cards and Certificates

How do I replace my Nevada Hunter Education Certificate if I’ve lost it or it has been damaged?
If you have already received the Nevada Hunter Education Certificate and need a replacement certificate, you can contact the Nevada Department of Wildlife at nvb-webmaster@hunter-ed.com or (775) 688-1500.
How do I replace my Online Course Completion Confirmation if I’ve lost it or it has been damaged?
To replace a lost or destroyed Online Course Completion Confirmation, log in to the course and print a new one.

What are the minimum system requirements to access this course?

The minimum system requirements to take this course are:

  • A computer with Internet access and a current Internet browser
  • A mouse or pointing device

Username and Password

How do I choose a username?
Sometimes, it can be difficult to find a username that has not already been taken by someone else taking the same course. Try to pick something that is easy to remember but is also unique.
I need to change my username and/or password. Where do I do this?
If you need to update your profile information or change your password, click on the View Profile link under your username in the navigation bar at the top of any web page in the course. Re-submit your revised information using the form provided.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

If you forget your password, you can reset it from the Forgot Your Password page. You will need to enter your username and the e-mail from your profile, and an e-mail containing the link to reset your password will be sent.

Logging In/Out

Do I have to complete the online course all at once?
You may complete the course at your own pace. The course can be completed in one sitting or completed a little at a time over several days.
I am afraid to log out of the course, but I don’t have all day to take it. Will I lose everything if I log out?
No, when you log out, your progress is recorded so that when you log in again, you can pick up where you left off. When logging back in, you will be taken to the Course Contents page where you can see the progress you have made. You can click on a link for the last page viewed to go back to that part of the course.
How many times may I log in and out?
You may log in and out as many times as you wish. Your progress is monitored and saved.

Troubleshooting

What does the message “Your session has expired due to inactivity” mean?
If you have not been active within the course for more than 15 minutes, you will automatically be logged out of your session. A notice stating, “Your session has expired due to inactivity.” will appear at the top of the course on a yellow background. Log back in, and you can continue interacting with the course. Your progress will have been recorded, and you should be able to continue where you left off in the course.
What happens if I get disconnected from the Internet while taking the course?
If you are disconnected from the Internet, simply log back in and pick up where you left off. Your progress in the course will be saved.
Why aren’t the animations or videos displaying?
If you are unable to view the animations or videos, make sure that Adobe Flash Player is installed on your system.
