Official Mississippi Hunter Education Course
About the Course and Hunting License Requirements
Welcome to the official online hunting course of
the Mississippi
Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Under Mississippi
hunter education law, all persons
born on or after January 1, 1972 are required to complete
a 10-hour hunter education course before purchasing a hunting
license.
There are two study options:
- Attend a full 10-hour hunter
education course; or
- Independent study through this online course, followed
by attendance at the last three hours of a regularly scheduled
10-hour class. These three hours will include interaction
with the class instructor, a live-firing exercise, and
taking the final state written exam with the other students.
