The Four Primary Rules of Firearm Safety
1. Always point the muzzle of your gun in a safe direction.
Keep it pointed in a safe direction at all times.
2. Always treat every gun as if it were loaded.
It might be, even if you think it isnt.
3. Always be sure of your target and beyond.
Know the identifying features of the game you hunt. Make sure you have an adequate backstop—dont shoot at a flat, hard surface or water.
4. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
This is the best way to prevent an accidental discharge.
