Who Needs the Certificate?
Under Mississippi hunter education law, all persons born on or after January 1, 1972, are required to complete a hunter education course before purchasing a hunting license.
Good in Other States
All states and provinces that have mandatory hunter education requirements will accept Mississippi Hunter Education certifications. Likewise, Mississippi will accept hunter education certifications that are issued by other states and provinces that meet official IHEA requirements. (This is known as “reciprocity.”)

Is the Online Course Completion Certificate the same as a Hunter Education Certificate?
The Online Course Completion Certificate is proof that you have completed the online portion of your hunter education, and it allows you to take part in the Final Classroom Course. You will be issued the Mississippi Hunter Education Completion Card once you have successfully completed the Final Classroom Course requirements.
