Important Range Day Information
Locating and Signing Up for the Range Day
After passing the online portion of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Range Day.
To locate and sign up for the Range Day in your area, go to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources website at http://fw.ky.gov/app1/calendar.aspx?Category=8&County=000&Month=*.
Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Range Day.
What To Expect at the Range Day
At the Range Day, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction, a field exercise, a live-fire exercise, and Kentucky’s Hunter Education Certification exam.
Important Bring your Online Course Completion Voucher to the Range Day as proof of having completed the online course.
After attending and passing the Range Day portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your Kentucky Hunter Education Completion Card.
Hunter Education Documents
- Online Course Completion Voucher
- The Kentucky Online Course Completion Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Online Course Completion Voucher and a notarized Affidavit at the Range Day to gain admittance.
- Kentucky Hunter Education Completion Card
- The Kentucky Hunter Education Completion Card is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of Kentucky. You will receive the Hunter Education Completion Card from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources after successfully completing the Range Day.
Replacement
If you have already received the Kentucky Hunter Education Completion Card and need a replacement certificate, you can contact the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources at http://www.kdfwr.state.ky.us/.
To replace a lost or destroyed Online Course Completion Voucher, log in to the course and print a new one.
