About the Course and Hunting License Requirements

You're about to begin the official online hunter education course of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. In order to purchase an Indiana hunting license, all hunters born after December 31, 1986 need a Hunter Education Certification card. If you are going out of state to hunt, you may be required to present proof of your successful completion of a hunter education course.

There are two study options:

• Instructor-led classroom courses; or
• Independent study through this online course. The online course is only available to Indiana residents 12 years old or older.
