Firing Positions
There are four standard rifle firing positions: prone, standing, sitting,
and kneeling. The prone position is the steadiest of the four positions. With neither arm supported, the standing position this is the most difficult position for firing an accurate shot. In the sitting position, both arms are supported by your legs. Next to the prone position, this is the steadiest position. With only one arm braced, the kneeling position is less steady than the prone and sitting positions.
