Locating and Signing Up for the Follow-Up Class
After passing the online portion of California Department of Fish and Wildlife hunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Follow-Up Class.
To locate and sign up for the Follow-Up Class in your area, go to http://www.dfg.ca.gov/huntered/classes-home-study.aspx.
Warning! Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Follow-Up Class.
What To Expect at the Follow-Up Class
At the Follow-Up Class, you must successfully complete the remaining course requirements, which include: 4–6 hours of instruction and California’s Hunter Education Certification exam.
Important Bring your California Online Course Completion Voucher to the Follow-Up Class as proof of having completed the online course.
After attending and passing the Follow-Up Class portion of the hunter education requirement, you will receive your California Hunter Education Certificate.
Hunter Education Documents
- Online Course Completion Voucher
- The California Online Course Completion Voucher is proof that you have successfully completed the online portion of your hunter education requirement. Students must present the Online Course Completion Voucher at the Follow-Up Class to gain admittance.
- California Hunter Education Certificate
- The California Hunter Education Certificate is proof that you have successfully completed all the hunter education requirements and can legally hunt in the state of California. You will receive the Hunter Education Certificate from California Department of Fish and Wildlife after successfully completing the Follow-Up Class.
If you have already received the Hunter Education Certificate and need a replacement certificate, you can contact California Department of Fish and Wildlife at http://www.dfg.ca.gov/.
To replace a lost or destroyed Online Course Completion Voucher, log in to the course and print a new one.
